Blueberry season is finally upon us and there is no better way to celebrate than to pick your own at this gorgeous Texas farm. Griffin Berry Farm has just kicked off their tasty blueberry season, offering visitors the chance to get buckets full of the delicious fruit.
The farm is charging $15 per gallon bucket (which is 6 pounds!) and they even give you flats to take them home. The season will run until June which means you can pick your own fresh blueberries all summer long. You can even pick up a few recipies while you're there.
The site suggests you call the farm ahead of time, not only for them to prepare for your visit, but also to ensure that they haven't been completely picked out for the day. The farm is open on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Blueberries are the only fruit on the farm that you can just drive up and pick, and other fruits and vegetables must be scheduled for picking.
Griffin Berry Farm takes the month of July off to let their farm refresh before they kick off their tasty pear season. From August through September you can pick 5 gallons of pears for just $15. During that time you will also have the chance to pick muscadine grapes.
Griffin Berry Farm is located at 2394 Moore Road in Beaumont, Texas. You can visit their website here for more information including where to call for reservations and the full list of fruits you can pick for the rest of the year.
